Math and Science Fun
Here are some pictures from math and science last week. We are working on learning our multiplication facts in math. We were singing our facts to a CD I have. I grabbed my camera and caught a couple of air guitars, drums, and one student just rocking out!

Celebrate Freedom Week
This week was Celebrate Freedom week and one of the state requirements is for students to recite an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence. They did a great job! Here we are practicing for our competition with Ms. Moon's class. Happy Constitution Day!

Just Right Books
This week we worked on routines and procedures. Students were introduced to Reading Workshop and how it will run in my classroom. We talked about the importance of reading 'Just Right' or 'Good Fit' books. I brought in some helpful visuals (WHOOP!). We talked about how shopping for books is just like shopping for your t-shirt. You always want to find the one that fits you, and the one that fits you may not fit your neighbor. Please encourage your children to be reading books that fit them - not too hard, not too easy!
Here we are practicing silent reading our Just Right books.
